The Jumpstart Ford coalition protests in Detroit and Dearborn at Ford’s 100-anniversary celebrations and a national day of action at Ford dealerships in 21 cities. RAN and GX are joined by the Sierra Club and Bluewater Network at Ford’s annual general meeting of shareholders in Dearborn.
May 2003
Environmental group Rainforest Action Network (RAN) and human rights organization Global Exchange (GX) join the campaign and found the Jumpstart Ford Coalition. RAN and GX organize a protest at the Ford dealership in San Francisco and launch a nationwide grassroots campaign demanding that Ford dramatically improve fuel efficiency and eliminate greenhouse gas emissions.
