On September 30th, 2006 our friends in the Peninsula Raging Grannies Action League attended the 34th annual Electric Vehicle Rally in Palo Alto, CA. Dozens of gasoline-optional vehicles came to the rally with representatives from lots of companies and organizations all supporting electric, emissions-free transportation!

The Electric Vehicle Association of Silicon Valley hosted this event at Palo Alto High School, drawing experts in the electric vehicle industry, as well as just curious community members. Cars ranged from homemade custom conversions, Tesla Motors' Roadster, Commuter Cars' Tango, CalCars' Plug-in Hybrid, and the WrightSpeed X-1. It seems lots of creative people and small companies can show this technology is possible - so what's holding Ford back?
