On Tuesday October 24th, Jumpstart Ford joined up with the Vote Solar Initiative to show the grassroots support for Proposition 87. Dozens of activists donned doctors and nurses outfits and took to the rush-hour streets of San Francisco handing out prescriptions for oil addiction. We had several Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles and a few Electric Vehicles on hand to - showing that there are better options than oil!

Proposition 87 is a California State initiative that will essentially place a small tax on oil drilling (raising an estimated $4 billion!) and direct that money towards research and development of renewable fuels and energy. It's a great step towards fighting oil addiction - but there's a LOT of money being thrown around with this initiative. The YesOn87 campaign is supported by countless environmental and health organizations, businesses, schools, leading politicians and even Bill Clinton and Al Gore. The NoOn87 campaign says they have a lot of support - but more than 99 percent of their funding comes straight from Big Oil.
